Hotel Okura Manila appoints General Manager

Hotel Okura Manila announced the appointment of Jan Marshall as its pre-opening General Manager.  The new hotel will open in the second half of 2019.

A graduate of the hospitality school of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, he has broad working experience throughout the United States and in Asia, where he spent the last twenty years of his career. His postings include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Manila, Sydney, Bali, Jakarta, Tokyo and Osaka. He served previously as General Manager of Sofitel Tokyo and as Director of Operations for Accor Japan. He also served as General Manager of Hotel Nikko Osaka. He is a Managing Executive Officer of Okura Nikko Hotel Management, having spent more than 15 years with the group.

Marshall commented, “I worked previously in Manila and I am very pleased that I’ll be working again in a city that is dear to my heart. I would like to make the Hotel Okura Manila a place the local community will call home, and one that makes a real contribution to local society.”

188-room Hotel Okura Manila will be situated within the Resorts World Manila (RWM) property. An ultra-luxury hotel boasting spacious 60 square meter rooms will house signature fine dining Japanese restaurant Yamazato. The hotel also promises to showcase the signature first-class service it has come to be known for, blended with a touch of Filipino warmth and hospitality.
